Youth Confirmation Class
An important chapter in Christian formation, confirmation is a significant rite of passage that often occurs around eighth grade. Youth candidates for confirmation are required to meet regularly in the months prior to their official confirmation.
In preparation for making the choice to be confirmed, students will learn about church history, the Bible, Episcopalian liturgy, and various components of our worship practice. In addition, you will be required to do community service and to participate in Sunday services. Each candidate will also be matched with his or her individual mentor. Mentors are adult leaders in our community who will walk with you during the Confirmation process, and support you as you make the decision about being confirmed or not.
It all culminates at the confirmation Eucharist, held in the spring. Confirmation is presided over by a bishop, who confirms each candidate.
Hear students, parents, and mentors speak about the value and impact of this journey in our video of the confirmation program at Heavenly Rest.
