Centering Prayer
Monday Meditation
Mondays in Lent from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join us every Monday for silent meditation in the Chancel. Our special theme this season will be “Giving Up for Lent.” Every session will include a brief read or spoken-word reflection, followed by 20 minutes of silent meditation, sometimes called Centering Prayer in the Christian tradition. Please arrive on time so as not to enter during the silence. All are welcome! No prior experience necessary, and no need to sign up. If you have questions, contact the Rev. Elizabeth Garnsey at egarnsey@heavenlyrest.org or 212-289-5384.

Bread, Book, and Soup
New Wednesday Night Class for Lent
Wednesdays, February 29 through April 4 from 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm
Immediately following the 6pm Wednesday night Eucharist, the Rev. Tom Synan will lead a discussion group using the book "Bread and Wine: Readings for Lent and Easter." This book is an anthology that includes essays and poetry of theological heavyweights such as C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton, and Frederich Buechner, not to mention literary surprises from Dylan Thomas and John Updike. In keeping with the season, soup and bread will be provided. If you are interested in participating in this program, please contact the Rev. Tom Synan at tsynan@heavenlyrest.org and pick up a copy of Bread and Wine. The book is available at www.Amazon.com.
