Parish Life

Summer Sunday Forum TED Talks

Throughout the summer, we’ll focus our Sunday Forums on listening to the stories and wisdom of our parishioners. We’ll invite parishioners to offer “TED” style talks about a topic, issue, or theme they feel passionate about and how it relates to their lives as people of faith. TED talks are designed to be accessible, inspiring, and thought-provoking. We’ll ask parishioners to focus on issues they know well because of their work or personal lives – 9:35am in the Undercroft.

Summer Questioning Faith: Sandwich and Scripture
This summer, we’ll gather after the 10:30am service to discuss and reflect on the lectionary readings for the day and the homily. If the weather is nice, we’ll bring sandwiches and eat in the park. Ask an usher or clergy member to direct you where to go. This program will replace Questioning Faith for the summer. Email amwitchger@heavenlyrest.org for more information.

Need a Prayer

Open my lips, O Lord,
and my mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from your presence
and take not your holy Spirit from me.

Give me the joy of your saving help again
and sustain me with your bountiful Spirit.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
