Discipleship begins at birth. At Church of the Heavenly Rest, we are committed to supporting the faith journey of all people, beginning with the youngest among us.
Sunday Programming
Children's Chapel | 11 am, age 0-grade 6
A brief, accessible Liturgy of the Word, led by a member of our clergy team, designed to engage the curiosity of children and strengthen their connection to the Episcopal tradition. Children may gather at the back of the nave to process to Chapel with teaching artists, and parents and caregivers are always welcome to join in.
Sunday School
Immediately following Chapel, teaching artists will lead kids in an exploration of scripture tailored to each specific age group. Through prayer, movement, song, story, art, and ritual, children will begin to build the bonds of Christian fellowship by learning and playing together.
Acolytes and Lectors
Guided by clergy, children and youth (3rd grade and up) can participate in this important ministry by serving as torchbearers, participating as readers, and helping lead us through our worship service.
Children’s Corner
For our youngest friends who'd like to remain in church with their caregivers and need a little extra space, we've added a rug and soft toys to the front left corner of the nave.
Baptism
One of Church of the Heavenly Rest’s greatest honors and deepest delights is to officially welcome people of all ages into the family of God through the sacrament of Holy Baptism. If you or a loved one wishes to be baptized here, please fill out a baptismal form to register.
