Museum Mile 2025: 96 Years on 90th Street!
Join us on June 10th from 6-9pm to celebrate 400 years of NYC!
Eight museums and several neighborhood partners are once again coming together for the 47th annual Museum Mile Festival, New York City’s biggest block party, which will take place, rain or shine, on Tuesday, June 10, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Presented as part of Founded By NYC, the citywide commemoration of the 400th anniversary of New York’s founding as a municipality, this celebration of art and culture will feature live programs, musical performances, exhibitions, and art-making activities for all ages, as well as additional events. Festival attendees can walk Museum Mile on Fifth Avenue between 82nd Street and 110th Street while visiting eight of New York City’s finest cultural institutions, all of which open to the public with free admission throughout the event.
This Museum Mile, Church of the Heavenly Rest invites you to experience our interactive historical tour, 96 Years on 90th Street. In the Nave, visitors may grab a snack, then scavenger-hunt through a vibrant selection of photographs, artistic renderings and excerpts from our parish archives, from before our founding in 1929 to present day.
Families can enjoy turn-of-the-20th-century carnival games both on the street and in the Nave, along with outdoor performances by our Jazz Vespers Trio and the Queer Big Apple Corps.
Our outreach partner Trinity Place Shelter will be tabled outside, and in the Chapel, there will be an immersive art exhibit of highlights from our summer art show ReComposition: Art + Science for Earth, featuring musical compositions by Evelyn Saylor.
Want to volunteer? Heavenly Rest will open its doors to hundreds of people, and we need lots of volunteers to run our activity stations and act as ambassadors for our wonderful church community. If you're interested in volunteering, please fill out this form.
